Middle-Infrared LEDs
Our
mid-infrared (1600-5000 nm range)
Light emitting
diodes (LEDs) possess certain
competitive advantages:

0.35x0.35 mm
✔ Possibility to arrange multi-element
arrays enables obtaining
multi-wavelength emitters in single
compact packages
✔ No need of optical filters - LEDs
emission band widths are comparable with
absorption band widths of many chemical
agents

selectivity and accuracy for different
sensing applications
✔ Low power consumption ( <1 mW)
✔ Short response time – 10-50 ns
✔ Modulation ranges of up to 100 MHz can
be achieved
✔ Operation temperatures up to +150°C

We offer:
One-element LED models with
1.6-2.4µm peak wavelengths (GaSb-based)
and 2.8-5.0µm (InAs-based).
There are two types of LED chip design:
▪ with circular or ring top contact
▪ with top surface free of contacts
(flip-chip)
Beside standard LED models our product
line includes LEDs with a special glass
covering and LED arrays.
LED Models
We offer:
✔ A line of standard LEDs
(LED chip with circular or
ring top contact) with
1.6-2.4µm peak wavelengths (GaSb-based)
and 2.8-5.0µm (InAs-based).
✔ A line of flip-chip bonded
LEDs (LED chip top surface
is free of contacts) with

Custom Matrices
For the custom arrays and matrices the number elements included depends on the application and the chosen package type. Standard TO-type packages offered by RMT Ltd. can be used. Packages with built-in thermoelectric modules (Peltier elements) provide temperature stabilisation of LED chip parameters. Use of these packages allows creation of different variations of LED arrays and matrices arrangements, some of which are presented below.
