| Explanation of Over-Travel on LVDT Transducers |

For all LVDT and DC LVDT displacement transducers the 'Electrical Zero Position' is given. Additionally, the 'stroke' for all transducers is given. The diagram above shows this as F.S. (full scale).
In order to make mechanical installation and production easier, each transducer also has a small over-travel at either end before it come to the mechanical end stop.
For SPRING RETURN type transducer units , the transducer armature will rest at the outward mechanical stop position.
For UNGUIDED LVDT transducers, there is no outward over-travel figure as it is infinite.
The output within the over-travel region is not necessarily linear and should not be used for measurement.
