- Using friction
Fixed to a structure by magnet and strain measured by friction produced on the surface. - No adhesive needed
Removal of paint, grinding, degrease, adhesive bonding and curing are unnecessary. Measurement gets ready by only attaching the strain checker. - Painting after measurement not required
Measurement can be made without taking off the paint of a test object. - Reusable
Due to easy mounting and dismounting, measurement position can be easily moved. In combination of TML dynamic strain recorder DC-204R, it is possible to detect a position of the largest strain being generated by moving. - Simultaneous multi-point measurement
Using plural strain checkers, multi-points can be measured at the same time, so stress distribution and principal stress direction can be found. - General use strain gauge

Strain Checker FGMH Series (frictional strain gauge)
Ordinary strain gauges measure strains generated in the structures through adhesive layer. The strain checkers (FGMH-1B/FGMH-2A) pick up the strains through friction by pressing down the strain sensing element on the structures with the magnet. The checker can be easily fixed on the position of interest and immediately gets ready for strain measurement. The FGMH-1B is a small and lightweight standard type and the FGMH-2A features measurement in a narrow place such as near welding point. The FGMH-3A is 3-element 45° rectangular rosette type and can measure strains in the directions of the gauge axis 1, 2 and 3 at the same time and find the principal stress (strain) direction by rosette analysis.
