DSP-based ultra low power set for advanced hearing aids
This set consist of 2 ICs. The first is a mixed signal implemented in a 0.35um process, the second being a highly specialized high performance DSP machine implemented in a 0.25um process.
The heart of the digital chip was developed by Frontier Design, the Belgium-based design house specializing in DSP implementations. By tightly coupling their design methodologies, XEMICS and Frontier offer customers a significant advantage in the development of systems-on-a-chip. The combination of the two companies expertise in low-power chip architecture and fabrication results in a SOC with a throughput of 130 MIPS and power consumption of only 1.5 mA, operating on a single cell 1-Volt battery.
XEMICS has also a broad experience in the design and delivery of 1-Volt mixed signal circuits for programmable analog hearing aids.
ICs for Watches
Over the past years XEMICS has designed custom specific integrated circuits for miniature devices. These devices include watches, where low-power and low-voltage is of the upmost importance. Our expertise in the watch business goes back many years, with Neuch鈚el located right in the heart of the watchmaking area in Switzerland.
Smart Identification Device ICs
These devices are the heart of miniature battery-less electronic identification tags, which can store from 512 upto 4096 bits. A unique 2-wire bus provides both power supply and read/write functions. Target applications are identification tags for automotive, manufacturing, medical, computer, security and aerospace markets.
