Total Quality Management
ANADIGICS' Quality Statement represents a corporate commitment to Total Quality Management at ANADIGICS. Management takes the lead in practicing and emphasizing the fundamental principle that Quality is everyone's responsibility at ANADIGICS.

Total Quality Management at ANADIGICS is structured to provide constant communication between our customers and internal operations at ANADIGICS. The integration of these communications is the basis for continuous improvement. The Total Quality Management System at ANADIGICS can be broken down into four basic systems, these are; systems for assuring consistency, conformance, improvement and methodologies. These systems work interactively with each other and with ANADIGICS' customers. Corrective actions, which result in continuous improvement, are at the center of all these systems. The circle encompassing these systems represents the fact that continuous improvement through corrective action in a never-ending pursuit of total customer satisfaction. The methodology for these systems is detailed in a comprehensive document control system. The structure of this system is defined in ANADIGICS Quality Assurance Manual. The system defined in the Quality Assurance Manual is based upon the ISO 9000 criteria for quality systems. The system is continually audited for compliance and potential improvement areas. ANADIGICS was the first Gallium Arsenide IC Company to achieve ISO certification. ANADIGICS has held ISO 9001 certification since 1993.

Quality Through Design
The Quality and Reliability of ANADIGICS' products is a result of a comprehensive design, characterization and qualification process. Each design is scrutinized against design rules for manufacturability and reliability before the first prototype circuit is produced. Electrical and thermal performance simulations are also run during the design stage.

Initial prototypes of the devices are characterized over the entire range of performance conditions and beyond. Data from these characterizations are compared to the simulation predictions. Design modifications and improvements to simulation programs are made based upon the characterization data. The result is an optimized circuit and improved simulations for future circuits.

When the prototypes have demonstrated the expected performance, pre-production product is manufactured and subjected to additional characterization and comprehensive reliability testing. Product must meet stringent environmental, mechanical and accelerated life testing criteria based upon Mil-Std, JEDEC and other international standards, before release to production.

Similarly, ANADIGICS' manufacturing processes are developed with the same rigorous process of characterization and qualification. Statistical process control techniques are established to monitor and improve these processes over time.

Reliability
ANADIGICS has established and continuously builds our database on product reliability.

Over 4 million device hours have been logged on highly accelerated life testing. This database not only serves as a comprehensive representation of ANADIGICS' device reliability, it also provides a strong foundation for evaluating new product and process designs.

ANADIGICS' product reliability is continuously monitored. Comprehensive environmental, mechanical and accelerated life tests are performed on production products on a continual basis. This monitoring provides feedback not only on product reliability, but also the effectiveness of continuous improvements that have been implemented.
