PHS (Personal Handy System, previously PHP, Personal Handy Phone) is the Japanese version of a digital personal communications standard. The intent is to provide mobile cordless telephone coverage at home, in the office, or on the street. The system is designed to work at walking speeds. PHS is one of the more advanced personal communications systems. Handsets have reached a high level of integration, and are typically quite small.
