Leader in digital video solutions to provide software and system integration services to TriMedia customers
Philips Semiconductors today announced that Videon Central Inc., a leading developer of digital video reference designs, will resell Philips Semiconductors' TriMedia application software and provide support, software integration and customization services. The initial software applications include MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 decoding, MPEG-1 encoding, AC-3 decoding and a 2-D graphics library. Video editing and surveillance applications are among the first reference designs that Videon Central is developing for TriMedia. The TriMedia application software modules, developed by Philips Semiconductors, empower users to rapidly build new designs for a variety of multimedia-intensive markets. Customers can concentrate on developing additional, higher value features while improving time-to-market. Under the agreement, Videon Central is expected to support new software modules as Philip Semiconductors releases them. Videon Central Inc. joins a growing list of companies working with Philips Semiconductors to support the TriMedia processor with application software, development tools and integration services. Philips Semiconductors is building a community of support for a wide range of applications that derive compelling benefits from the TriMedia processor's open architecture and powerful VLIW scheduling compiler.
